Welcome to 2026
Good morning folks, welcome to 2026!
I’ve been debating posting, as everyone and their dog is also doing a ‘what’s up for 2026’ post.
But I also have a deadline to procrastinate against, so… here’s what’s up for 2026:
Actually, not much. 2025 was a banner year, which I covered in my pre-xmas LinkedIn post here:
https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7407361654914711553
Post-sabbatical, which ended in October 2024, I really wanted to ramp things up and get ahead of myself work-wise in 2025.
Aside from all the work-related action, I also rejigged my day-to-day routine to fit better with how I live and work best.
This meant turning my schedule upside down, recognising what does and doesn’t work for me personally, committing to some things that I know for certain help me thrive (but that others might think are nuts) and trying out a few others to see how they felt.
So far so good. My dog is unsure about me starting work before 6:30am but very happy about the regular post-lunch nap.
This year I want to take my foot off the gas a bit and take the time to enjoy these new ways of working and living.

📈 In bid world:
My work through UK Bid Writer is going really well, with the aforementioned impending deadline and a couple of other things in the works for this first quarter.
The UK Bid Writer client book is open for 2026 if you have bid-related projects coming up. Why not book in for a FREE, no obligation 20-minute (or so, last one ended up being well over an hour 😁) Zoom/Teams call to talk it through or just brainstorm a bit.
You know, I have been told I’m bonkers for doing these free calls so often, especially as the ‘conversion ratio’ 🙄 can be pretty low. But I get as much out of these as anyone – the free advice I give out in these calls offers me so much insight into what my whole client base is thinking about, and this helps me determine what UKBW needs to focus on.
The UK Bid Writer Podcast offers ‘News, Views and How To’s in 15 minutes or less’ and I’m planning on adding to it much more this year. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see covered.

🗺️More broadly:
I’ve given the Lyndsey Wray Consultancy website a bit of a refresh, in line with a revised focus on offering bespoke consultancy for complex one-off projects, and moving away from the ‘pick n mix’ menu of defined services.
https://www.redesigning-business.com/
And if you have got a complex, one-off project that needs someone who thinks sideways to tackle it, contact your local polymath here.
I’m still tinkering with the Redesigning Business Brief newsletter but you can catch up on previous issues here:
https://www.linkedin.com/newsletters/the-redesigning-business-brief-7360999137665839107
I’ll be honest, creating a weekly newsletter takes A LOT of time and effort, and I put it on hold because I wasn’t sure it was offering something ‘worthwhile enough’ for the energy I was putting into it.
It will return, possibly quarterly but definitely with a clearer focus and many more practical resources.
Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see in the next version.

And that’s it. I hope your 2026 starts well, gets better and brings you everything you need and much of what you want.
😘
